Making those all important home decor decisions are just a tip of the iceberg when moving. If you are moving house then you will know more than anyone how important it is for you to really make it feel like your new home.
This is especially the case if you have kids because you need to give them as much help & support as you can throughout the whole process.

First Things First

Before you even think about moving house, you have to make sure that you are moving into the right place. Ask yourself is it the right size for you? Is the location right? Are the amenities close by good? Think about the building type too, are you looking for an apartment? A luxury property? A family home?
When you know what you want & need, you can then make sure that you have the right property for you.

Unpack Everything

You are going to unpack anyway but if you leave the boxes sat around too long, then this can really drag on & you’ll procrastinate like me & keep putting it off! Which will really have an impact on how your new home feels in the first few days. The sooner you are able to sort all of this stuff out, the sooner you will make it feel like home. You may not have tons of time to unpack & that is completely understandable so consider taking the time off work and get the whole family involved.

Finishing Touches

When you know where everything is going to go, it’s then time to shine! My favourite part of moving is deciding the place for things & giving it a new lease of life & a fresh look! You can start by putting up some photos & even hanging up some artwork. Photos can really help you to make the place feel like yours & it also helps to have some familiar faces dotted around too. If you can, you should even have some larger frames & make a centerpiece out of them.  If you are a little worried about putting holes into your walls then don’t be because there are plenty of options out there that you can use without damaging anything.

You may want to have a new bed for yourselves waiting for when you arrive & want to invest in one for the kids too! They are already looking forward to their new room, why not make it even more exciting! Check out modern cabin beds from Cuckooland They have some stunning stuff to keep your home looking great & it is also a great way for you to really make the bedrooms look fantastic!

There are many ways to make the most out of your new home & when you put the work in, you will soon see how easy the whole thing can be!

Great tips! I am so bad about leaving things in boxes after I move, when in reality I never needed the junk in them to begin with! I hope my recent move will be the last one for a LONG time!
