How To Get Kids To Do What YOU Want – In 4 Easy Steps

How to get those kids to listen without nagging them and do what YOU want them to do!! Lifestyle Parenting Hacks Behavior Positive Parenting Solutions

Wouldn’t it be lovely if your children would naturally hang on every word you said & were happy to do as you ask? Of course it would, but children are humans, not robots, & thus they’re not going to just do what you say! So how do you make your children follow your way of life? Take a look at a few tried and tested ways below –

A concentrated effort

First thing’s first, don’t just assume that your child is going to follow your way of life. They’ve got influences in many different areas of their life; television, music, their friends at school & so on. They’ll be pulled in many different directions. As such, you need to do a little pulling of your own. Make sure you’re setting some time aside to actively involve them in your interests. Lead by example, for instance, you can’t expect them to want to read if nobody ever reads around them! Some parents just sit back and wait for their children to discover that their mum & dad were right all along, but there are no guarantees that this will happen.

Add the fun

You already know the value of following your religion, spending time as a family, working towards a goal, or whatever else it is that you’re hoping your kids will follow. But they don’t. As such, you need to make it appealing. One way to do this is to make it fun. You could put a child off anything if you make it too serious, too early on. There will be time to go into the deeper side of things later on. When you’re first trying to get them on the hook, make it as enjoyable as possible.

Make it easy

If you’re going to convince your child to do things your way, then you should try to make it as easy as possible. A kids attention span is relatively short, if it’s not easy for them to do something, then they’ll probably give up on it straight away. So, it’s up to you to create an environment that makes life a little easier for them. Not too easy mind you! If you’re trying to get them more interested in religion for instance, you can look at making prayer time a family time – the family that prays together, stays together! Adding a Mosque carpet to your spare room. Will make prayer time more appealing & make religion all the more accessible for your children, they won’t even need to leave the house!

Let them be themselves

While you hope that your children follow your way of life, it’s important that you’re giving them space to be themselves, too. If you’re going to make your values a long-term part of their life, then they’ll need to find themselves in the values. They won’t be able to do that if you’re directing them every step of the way. Let them have a little space to breathe, & see where they go. You’ll thank yourself later!!
