Put Your Best Smile Forward

If you want to make a small change that can have a major impact on your health, you should think about changing your dentist, especially if care is too expensive, too far away, or not what you prefer. Receiving proper oral health care is just as important as receiving quality medical care since the state of your mouth can translate into issues for the rest of your body. Not to mention that dental health issues can negatively impact your social confidence and even your career. Since good oral health is connected to so many other aspects of your health and wellness, it makes sense to start the new year by taking better care of your mouth. Doing so can protect your self-esteem, prevent disease, and even preserve your mind.

Find a Diet That Works for You

When people make their resolutions for the new year, a new diet usually tops the list. Maintaining a healthy diet plan can help you shed pounds and improve your overall health, but it’s important to know which diets will work best for you and your health and wellness needs. For the most part, experts recommend that people stick to a diet that centers on whole foods, like fresh veggies, nutritious grains, and healthy fats. Try to abstain from meal plans that are overly restrictive or require you to cut too many calories. This makes sticking to your diet much easier, even when you are stressed or trying to enjoy the weekend. It’s okay to treat yourself, but stay smart so you can stay on track with your new health and wellness habits.

Commit to Being More Active

Fitness and diet goals pretty much go hand-in-hand when it comes to those healthy new year changes. Getting your diet under control is a major step toward better health, but you also need to incorporate some regular activity to keep your mind and body strong for the year ahead. Aim for smaller changes for a better shot at maintaining those long-term exercise goals, such as opting for the stairs when possible and taking an evening walk after every dinner. Once you feel more confident, you can try some other weight-loss workouts to get yourself in even better shape. Swimming is an extremely effective calorie-burning exercise that is also gentle on your body, but you can also opt to shed pounds with running or other workouts, you can also try 25 exercises for weight loss.

Give Yourself a Mental Makeover

Aspiring to a healthier, stronger body is always a great way to makeover your year, but you should also focus some attention on your mind as well. One of the easiest ways to get a better handle on stress and your mental health is to make more time for modest self-care. All those healthy habits you’re already working on (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) are considered some of the most basic forms of self-care, but you can also make other meaningful moves toward a more productive life, such as helping others, detoxing from technology, and decluttering your home. Stress and clutter are more closely connected than you may realize, so tidying up your home can free up your mind, in addition to freeing up more space.

The road to a healthier, happier lifestyle should be paved with better habits & better choices. So, make 2019 the year you live your best life yet!
