OK! So if you haven’t guessed by now…. I’m on a trip to find the best Milk Shake in Dubai & if you have a sweet tooth like me, then Monster Shakes are for you!
They need to have 4 characteristics …. Taste, texture, appealing on the eyes & thriftiness!
So far I’ve traveled to 3 of the trendiest milkshake venues in Dubai!

Black Tap in Jumeirah Al Naseema Was my first encounter with, what was soon to be my new addiction – Freak Shakes!
Then Chocolate Bar Dubai Mall, where they host the famous “Money Kicks” Monster Shake.
Finally my trip brought me to the famous Dubai Marina eatery – Fumé
We tried two flavors – Funky Cheesecake & Berry Shake.
Berry Shake is supposedly for the berry lovers out there. Made with mixed berries, yogurt, ice cream, fresh strawberries, whipped cream and sprinkles, I was hoping to get my taste buds zinging! But unfortunately…. It wasn’t as flavorsome as we had hoped! The milkshake it’s self was bland (maybe not enough sugar) although the Ice-Cream inside the cone was “buff” according to my son, the rest lacked flavor and we were expecting something bigger…. after all these are supposed to be Monster Shakes!
Funky Cheesecake – this shake is a combination of strawberry & cheesecake ice cream, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, strawberry sauce, dark chocolate, digestive biscuits … all topped with a fat cheesecake slice!
Don’t mean to toot my own horn… but I am somewhat of a Cheesecake Connoisseur! With it being my ultimate favorite dessert & I’m not bad at the ol’ home made Cheesecake either! 😉 For me, again, the shake it’s self was disappointingly bland!
The slice of cheesecake was OK with the first few nibbles… but when I look for a good cheesecake, it needs to be of course smooth and creamy, just sweet enough, with a hint of tartness. The crust needs to add something extra without overwhelming the taste of the cheesecake itself. And it’s gotta be rich enough to seem a bit decadent …. yet light enough to not make you feel sick!
This however, didn’t tick any of my Cheesecake boxes! It was sickly sweet and heavy – not a good mix, especially when it’s teamed with a shake! Fumé, you let me down!!
So my quest continues to find the ultimate Freak/Monster shake! 🙂
