10 Ways To Get Fit – The Lazy Girl Way.

10 Tips To Get Fit The Lazy Girl Way thrifdeedubai

We all have those good intentions that we keep on putting off…. But it’s apparent that we aren’t going to get off our jacksy’s unless we are motivated!

Honestly… I’m the most unfit person you’ll meet! I can’t even run for a bus!
The Number 70 Bus Driver has had some giggles at my expense in the past, I can tell you!!
Looking after our bodies isn’t something we should take for granted. Especially for those of you that are parents.
It’s only when we have little people to care for & forget to care for ourselves, you start to realise, you aren’t that sexy spring chicken you once was… it’s imperative we take care of ourselves, for the sake of our families & loved ones!

Having said that, With the Holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, I feel the need to cut down on bad foods & start detoxing & getting my body ready!

Nobody rolls outta bed & decides “today’s the day I get fit & detox” without a little encouragement & inspiration….
If you do, then why are you here miss priss? 😛
In all honesty we need a good ol kick up the backside (I know I do) so lets stop feeling sorry for our lazy behinds, see the best options available & get those butts looking “bootyful!”

Here are my top 10 fitness hacks that will keep you motivated & get you fit & healthier……. the lazy girl way!

Get The Sporty Look On!

One of the easiest ways to get yourself in the mood to exercise is by putting on some fitness gear.
Now don’t be sidetracked into thinking, this is comfy, let’s lounge around a bit longer – NO!  When you put on sports clothes, it puts you in a different mindset & gives you a bit of encouragement!…… Well if you’re going to look the part, you might as well act it!

Use a Fitness Planner!

If you think planners are only good for meal planning and prepping, then think again!
There are some really good apps that help you with the daily struggle, like the app 8fit which has workouts a meal planner & is also a personal trainer in your pocket! Or if you’re more of a hard copy, paper kinda person, you can find plenty of free fitness planners on Pinterest that you can print & stick on your wall that’ll help you keep track of fitness progress and goals. It might also be a good idea to invest in a fitness tracker as this will help you track your progress and things, which you will then put into your planner. You can find the best options available by clicking on the link.

Watch Some YouTube Fitness Tutorials

Don’t pay a gym membership when you can have one right in your living room! Do the workouts in the comfort of your home. You’ll just need a smart TV, a computer or phone. From Yoga, toning your legs up to working out on your abs, you can find a lot of FREE workout videos & you can even work out with the little ones, there are some really cool Zumba videos you can all follow. Try them out and your wallet will thank you later!

Clear A Space

No matter how big your space is, you can always find exercise that’ll work for your floor size. Try some bicycle crunches, planks, and side Pilates. They’re easy to do, help you burn fat.

Keep it Short

Don’t bother with lengthy workouts, short intense ones work the best, Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (also on YouTube) is the perfect example of loosing fat in a short amount of time with short intense workouts!
The reason why is because you have a shorter time to push yourself to the limit and give it your best.

Drink More Water

Make it a habit to always bring a bottle of water wherever you go. Pop some berries or fresh lemon slices & sprigs of mint into the mix if you’re not a water fan like me! This will hydrate you, help your body to burn more fat, and improve your workout performance.

Prep the Night Before

To save time in the morning, get your gear ready the night before your workout and prep all the things you need in advance so it’s ready for you when you wake up. If you’re a juice or smoothie starter in the mornings, have the ingredients already portioned & packed in the freezer ready to go! Check out some of my Smoothies for all day energy.

Change Up Your Commute

I know it’s hard if you’re living in Dubai to get active in the sun, but If you’re going somewhere near your house, consider riding a bike or walking instead of taking your car or public transportation.
It won’t just save you money, but your health as well.

Make it Routine

Set a time in the day when you feel most comfortable working out (or when nobody’s looking if you’re shy like me) When you consistently do workouts and follow a daily rhythm, it’s easier to make it a habit.

I totally agree to you… I am right now trying to become a better version of myself and Alhamdulillah, am lighter than when I started the year… getting to the gym can be tough especially when you are working and you have nobody back home for support. I always pack my bag in the morning and take it along with me, and the gym is right on the way home, so I feel bad driving past it… hehe… lovely tips there, all the very best…

That’s a good incentive keep the bag with you, no getting out of it then 😂
