Mummy Monday’s.

Exactly that! I’m all for a little “me time” but realistically, it very rarely happens for us mum’s let’s be honest!

These summer holidays in Dubai have been a killer!…. back in London the kids get 6 weeks holiday and that is MORE than enough, thank you!! But here in Dubai, my children’s school finished for the summer in May….. MAY?! 😳 Ugh! So the heat is unbearable & unless they are enrolled into a ridiculously expensive summer camp… you’re pretty much going from mall to mall, checking out the activities & seeing what best deals are on for the kids via your trusty Apps (Groupon & Cobone) and signing up to as many activities you can think of!

Le Petite Palais indoor play, arts & entertainment venue at Galleries Lafayette at Dubai Mall, introduced a Mummy Mondays event, which runs through the summer holidays. The place is a great little indoor play venue, although on the small side, the decor, Karaoke and role play activities are well thought out, the staff are attentive and the kids enjoyed it.

The price isn’t SO thrifty (well this is Galleries Lafayette) for one hour you pay 80AED and 20AED for an additional hour, which by the way! If you are more than 15 minutes late collecting your child, you will be charged an extra hour automatically!

But during Mummy Monday’s, the price is 70AED for TWO hours and…. wait for it…. breakfast is included!!! Cha-ching!! 😁 After much deliberation (Yeah Right!) We went on down and took the kids. After being told to take a seat in Galleries Lafayette Gormet restaurant, we waited for our waiter to bring us our “Hearty Breakfast” …. the staff were friendly… But very slow, the place was empty apart from one other table (also mummy’s) …. I can only imagine the wait we would endure at a busier time of day! Our Coffees arrived first & soon got cold as we awaited our Eggs Benedict, I was excited for them to arrive as this is my ALL time favourite way to eat eggs & they didn’t disappoint!

The eggs were cooked to perfection & we were then told our croissant is on the way (by this time the coffee was stone cold) not impressed as we waited a long time for the second part of our breakfast.

They obviously put time into making the plates look pretty…. as long as it tastes good, I’m not fussed! We would have liked to enjoy this part of the breakfast with a nice hot…. Or at least warm coffee.

I’m giving Galleries Lafayette a ThrifDee Rating of 8/10.

Simply because the service was extremely slow. Other than that, Eggs were on point!😉 Kids enjoyed their time in Petit Palais. Would like to try their next event Lunch n’ Play day!

But that’s another post!

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, would be nice if the climate could be a little cooler …. I’m missing being able to take the kids to the park (afraid they may fry in this heat lol) 🙂
